Alivia McKinney is 18 years old and was born on March 11, 1999 in Tribune, Kansas. Her parents are Wayne and Trudi McKinney, and she has two sisters: Hollie, and Hillary; a brother: Samuel; and a brother in law: Josh. Her favorite movie is She’s the Man, her favorite song is “Your Glory” by All Sons & Daughters, her favorite sport is volleyball, and her favorite food is steak.

Alivia plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and then pursue a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology after graduating.

When asked what her favorite school memory is, she responded, “Winning against Sharon Springs at Sub-State volleyball!” Her favorite memory from her senior year has been their senior trip to San Francisco, California.

Alivia’s most embarrassing moment from school was getting in the head with a volleyball in a game against Wheatland-Grinnell. She most enjoyed Mr. Hale’s class on Human Anatomy because they got to learn a lot of interesting things that can also be applied to real life. Her favorite thing to do when she’s not in school is to work on the farm with her dad.

Alivia says to underclassmen, “Don’t worry too much about what others think. Work hard in everything you do, but don’t do it for yourself. Do it for God, and then you will be rewarded.” In ten years she hopes to be married and back around Weskan working or taking care of her kids.

If Alivia could take one thing to college with her from Weskan she says she would take her friends because they have helped her through everything and they could build even better memories in college. Her brothers inspire her most in life because, “They are extremely strong in their faith and work hard at everything they do.” The one thing Alivia is going to miss most about high school is participating in sports with her best friends.

We wish Alivia well as she begins the next journey in her life!
